Agneta Ekman, b. 1942.
The Photobook Tall-Maja published 1967 by Gebers, Stockholm and is Agneta’s most important work to date. It was republished 2013 by Journal as a Swedish classic. Tall-Maja’s mis-en-scene piture language was pionering then, an early indication of a coming direction in international photography. Agneta was in the first class 1962 at Christer Strömholms Photo School, and later returned there as a teacher. She has worked with photgraphy and film in Sweden and Norway.

2012 photo book Bryt skam photo and text Agneta Ekman about breaking free from shame and prejudice about mental illness. Bryt Skam solo exhibitions Bohusläns museum and other galleries in west Sweden.
2014 Agneta’s Tall-Maja pictures were part of exhibition Ett sätt at leva at Moderna Museum in Malmö and Stockholm. 2015 exhibtion with Francesca Woodman at Moderna Museet Stockholm. The museum bought 10 Tall-Maja pictures. 2014 och 2015 Tall-Maja pictures shown at Aipad, The Armory i New York. 6 picture sold to US collections.
